Renault upgraded the entire Mégane range, which now features the new design identity. The Renault Mégane family has gained an extra dash of vitality that further strengthens its appeal.
Fitted with Renault's latest equipment and technological innovations, the brand's quality flagship remains firmly focused on travelling comfort and driving pleasure.
The Renault Mégane sport range has also been renewed. GT-Line and GT trim models gain a new bumper while Mégane RS is the first to feature the RS Replay function, for sharing more motorsport fun with friends.
The Renault Mégane range is taking on the new brand identity, shared by all new Renault cars.
The hatchback, coupé and estate models sport a new bumper, new grilles and a new boot featuring the enlarged Renault logo set against a gloss black background.
New daytime running lights wrapping around the sides of the body give an extra boost of vitality to all Mégane models.
The entire range asserts its personality with an identical front end for the hatchback, estate and coupé, while each one keeps its own distinctive identity.
Mégane Hatch asserts its elegance and modern styling, while Mégane Estate keeps all its practicality, wrapped in a flowing, stylish skin, and Mégane Coupé confirms its appeal by retaining its dynamic style lines.
A Bose® partner since 2008, New Mégane offers new content for the Bose® model, a trim level in its own right. The Bose® version features lacquer black bumper trim, new upholstery and new 17-inch Akhrio wheels.
The hatchback gets new side mouldings finished in gloss chrome and lacquer black, while the estate is fitted with chrome-look roof bars and chrome side window surrounds.
The Renault R-Link integrated multimedia tablet is available as an option or standard on the new Mégane range (depending on model and trim level, excluding the coupé-cabriolet).
Renault R-Link technology brings connected living into the automobile. The system groups all the multimedia functions, including navigation, radio, telephony with Bluetooth® and audio streaming, and connectivity for mobile devices in some 26 languages. It also provides vehicle-linked services and access to the Renault R-Link Store, with a catalogue of over 50 apps (depending on the country) that can be downloaded in-car.
Functions are controlled via a large 7-inch (18 cm) touchscreen that is simple and intuitive to use. Some functions can be easily activated using voice commands (nine languages available*), while the Text to Speech (TTS) function automatically vocalizes text messages and RSS flows for some apps once the vehicle is in motion.
The system can also be controlled using a joystick on the centre console.

In addition, a reversing camera makes manoeuvring easier by helping drivers avoid any obstacles behind the car. This technology is combined with a reversing radar that shows drivers how close they are to an obstacle via a sound alert and colour areas displayed on screen.
Petrol engine shifts to automatic
The new Renault Mégane range is the first to offer the Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) six-speed automatic gearbox on the TCe 130 petrol engine.
Advantages of the EDC automatic gearbox
The EDC automatic gearbox combines the comfort of an automatic and the responsiveness and frugality of a manual gearbox.
The EDC gearbox has no clutch pedal. Gear controls are automatic (PRND) with an up/down (+/-) shift mode.
Gear shifts are automatic and comfortable, with the ideal gear selected by an electronic control unit. For optimised efficiency and fuel consumption, Renault opted for an EDC transmission with a "dry" dual clutch system. The transmission has two clutches, the first for odd gears (first, third and fifth) and the second for even gears (second, fourth and sixth) plus reverse. Gears are selected using synchronisers, as with a manual gearbox. The synchronisers, like the clutches, are operated by electric actuators, themselves controlled by a control unit.
New Renault Mégane range as a source of Energy
Based on new-generation downsizing, Energy engines share the same philosophy: to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions while providing top-notch driving pleasure through carefully developed acoustics.
Petrol engines
Making its debut on New Scénic, Grand Scénic and Scénic Xmod, the Energy TCe 130 engine is now available on the Mégane family. The engine, a symbol of Renault's powertrain excellence, is part of Renault's renewed petrol offering, joining ranks alongside the Energy TCe 115. The responsive and extremely smooth new engine picks up eagerly from low revs, making it a real pleasure to drive. At the same time, the powerplant is easy to forget thanks to its silent operation and unobtrusive and lightning-fast Stop&Start system. Featuring Energy engine technology, it consumes 15% less fuel, or over 1 litre/100 km, than the former TCe 130.
The Renault Energy TCe 115 engine blends strong performance and low fuel consumption. The 1,197 cm3 aluminium unit develops 115 hp and maximum torque of 190 Nm, comparable with a 2-litre engine. With 90% of torque coming at 1,500 rpm and 100% between 2,000 and 4,000 rpm, the Energy TCe 115 stands out through its smoothness and enthusiastic low-range response.
Diesel engines
A 1,598-cm3 engine delivering 130 hp, the Energy dCi 130 is the most powerful diesel engine in its category. Generous torque, a full 80% of which is available from just 1,500 rpm and across a broad operating range, brings drivers lively pick-up for an immensely enjoyable at-the-wheel experience. With considerable reach for a diesel engine, the Energy dCi 130 revs up easily to 4,500 rpm, providing the driving pleasure of a higher-capacity engine. Derived from engines developed by Renault for Formula 1, it combines low fuel consumption with breakthrough performance.
The Energy 1.5 dCi 110 engine, making its debut on Mégane Collection 2012, is a real concentrate of technologies. Upgrades compared with the 1.5 dCi are based on turbo architecture, individualised spray cone angles, reduced friction and carry-over of the Energy dCi 130 technological package.
The Energy dCi 110 engine cuts fuel consumption and CO2 emissions through increased torque, up 20 Nm to 260 Nm, available from 1,750 rpm. Power remains the same, at 110 hp at 4,000 rpm.
Proved and approved quality
According to a number of surveys by independent bodies, Mégane III leads the segment on reliability - a quality inherited by the new Mégane range.
Renault Mégane scored good and even excellent on quality in the ADAC 2012 study for model years 2007 to 2012. Models produced in 2009, 2010 and 2011 were all rated excellent, confirming the superior quality of Mégane III over time.
In a March 2013 study by L'Automobile Magazine, Mégane III rated strongly on manufacturing quality and reliability. The best-selling car in France in 2012 in its category, third-generation Mégane was described as "a sure-fire value on the new car market".
The Mégane range is produced at the Palencia plant in Spain. Like all the Group's manufacturing sites, Palencia applies the Renault Production Way, a policy that meets the essential requirement of manufacturing top-quality products.

The quality of Bose® sound
Renault and Bose have since 2008 led a partnership that brings motorists the advantages of both brands: innovation, pleasure and quality excellence.
The Mégane range includes a renewed Bose® model, now a trim level in its own right. The model features tailored sound with the Bose® audio system, boasting outstanding acoustic performance.
Renault Mégane RS gains extra refinement
At the top of the Mégane range, the RS model was designed to deliver maximum driving pleasure. It packs a range of technologies illustrating the finest Renault Sport expertise, including a 2.0 16V 265 engine, limited-slip differential, an independent pivoting front axle and a choice of two chassis, Sport or Cup.
Already extremely powerful, Mégane RS styling has taken on even more dynamism with the Brand's new design identity. The new boot features the enlarged Renault logo, showcased by the gloss black background.
The new headlights, adding to the new line's powers of attraction, stand out with their gloss back "eyelids". The lamp units are fitted with a lens and underscored by a white comma, amplifying the light beam and providing top-quality lighting at night. In a styling touch applied across the Renault Sport range - and in a nod to Renault's Formula 1 success - the F1 blade is fitted on the new front bumper.
New Renault Mégane RS now includes equipment inspired by the limited edition Mégane RS Red Bull Racing RB8:
- Recaro seats with dual leather-fabric upholstery with Renault Sport-embroidered headrests,
- the Renault R-Link connected multimedia tablet, with the 2.0 version of the RS Monitor 2.0 data acquisition system compatible with the all-new R.S. Replay function,
- optional 19-inch wheels in black with a grey border, shod with the high-performance Bridgestone tyres used on Mégane Trophy for its record-setting lap at Nürburgring.
And for those looking for ultra-exclusiveness, the optional R.S. Design pack comes with special body components in red paint, including the F1 blade, the lower door protections and the rear spoiler.
2.0T Renault Sport 220 engine available on Mégane GT
Offering a daily dose of distinction and passion, New Mégane GT and GT-Line have been upgraded with styling makeovers commensurate with their motorsport heritage and "GT Renault Sport" signature.
While the bumper skin is shared with the rest of the Mégane range, the lower grille and the white headlight surrounds are specific to GT and GT-Line cars, as are the black headlight masks.
Depending on the country, Mégane GT is available with the 2.0T Renault Sport 200 petrol engine, derived from the 2.0 16V 265 Mégane RS unit. Efficient and responsive, the powertrain - fit first on the limited edition Mégane Estate GT 220 - develops 220 hp and peak torque of 340 Nm, and is equipped with a Stop&Start system. The CO2/power ratio is excellent, with respectable fuel consumption of 7.3 l/100 km and 169 g/km of CO2.
Renault Mégane GT and GT-Line are available in hatchback, coupé and estate versions (depending on the country) with a broad range of petrol and diesel engines.
