More sophisticated while still fun and agile, New Renault Twingo has been revamped and is sporting a new look! Both inside and outside, it comes with new customising options. It also features the latest connectivity innovations with the new Renault EASY CONNECT ecosystem. New Twingo is available with three petrol-power units.
Completely redesigned with a more pronounced shape, the front bumper also reveals a sleek design with a larger painted surface and LED daytime running lights located in the headlamp clusters. The front grille's graphics, especially the side air scoops (or inlets), make the vehicle appear more spacious. The top-trim level offers a chrome-finish which adds a distinguishing feature to the car.
Introducing the lighting signature seen on all Renault vehicles, the new headlamp clusters include C-Shape LED daytime running lights and indicators. Unique in the small city car segment, these technologies contribute to the New Twingo's distinctly chic and modern look.
The rear bumper has been redesigned and upgraded, with the addition of decorative trims. The C-shaped lighting signature can also be seen in the tail lights. Featuring a more convenient handle, the tailgate can now be unlocked and opened in one go.
The vehicle's design contributes to its aerodynamic performance which can be seen with the front bumper's air inlets directing air flows towards the wheel arches. The ride height, lowered by 10mm, and the rear-end fairing also help to reduce the drag coefficient. Side engine air intake, which has now been extended to all versions, improves engine cooling and provides New Twingo with a more assertive look.
Fruity and intense, Mango Yellow assertively highlights the New Renault Twingo's fun and quirky personality. The distinctly chic Quartz White is a pearly shade giving New Twingo a touch of elegance. The six ever more invigorating shades available are: Starry Black, Flame Red, Lunar Grey, Crystal White, Pistachio Green and Pale Blue.
New Twingo oozes elegance with its LED lights available as a standard feature on all versions. Starting with the second-trim level, the body-coloured door handles and side mirror covers stand out. The top-trim level comes with many unique sophisticated features:
A TWINGO FOR EVERYONE
The New Renault Twingo's look may be upgraded with new customising options:
- Colour pack: front grille rims, side mirror covers, side mouldings and rear bumper trims painted in Crystal White, Flame Red or Mango Yellow
- Three-coloured, Dots and Cosmic decals available in white or black
- 16-inch Juvaquatre with diamond finish or the new 16-inch Monega alloy rims
NEW CUSTOMISING OPTIONS
Spacious and functional, the passenger compartment can be customised starting at the second-trim level, with a choice between Dark and Light upholstery colour combinations. This version also includes manual air-conditioning and a radio, compatible with the R&Go customisable smartphone application.
At the top-trim level, the new EASY LINK multimedia system, including a 7-inch screen and unique upholstery, is added. The dashboard comes with a white lacquered finish and the door armrests are covered and decorated with topstitching for a more sophisticated and comfortable feel.
Just like the exterior, you can choose from the colour customisation packs (black, red or yellow), to change the shade of the dashboard, the air vent surrounds, the steering wheel and the outer trim on the gear lever. The upholstery stitching can also subtly reflect the colour chosen.
IMPROVED STORAGE SPACES
New Twingo has been fitted with a revamped and more functional centre console featuring an adjustable holder in which you can place a cup or store a smartphone in an upright position. To increase accessibility, the console also includes two USB ports and a jack plug, together with the buttons used for both Stop & Start and cruise control/speed limiter.
A new collection of more modern gear knobs also contributes to giving a new feel to the passenger compartment.
The glovebox is now closed at all trim levels and the rear parcel shelf has been redesigned and reinforced. All of these improvements contribute to increasing the perceived quality of New Twingo.
RENAULT EASY CONNECT
Since Renault believes that the use of vehicles can be simplified through connected vehicles, Renault EASY CONNECT is gradually rolled out across the Renault brand's entire range. This ecosystem consists of connected services using innovative technologies developed by the Alliance and its partners which are available via mobile apps and multimedia systems.
NEW EASY LINK MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM TO BE AT THE FOREFRONT OF TECHNOLOGY
This new system, based on a 7-inch high-resolution touchscreen tablet, aims to improve ease of use and usability through its user-friendly interface and the shortcuts available, reducing the number of clicks required to switch from one function to another.
With standard integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, new on-board screens can be used to replicate the user's smartphone. You can easily and safely access your compatible apps such as navigation and music.
Hands-free calling comes with improved sound, with a dual-microphone filtering out background noise to only reproduce your voice. Similarly, audio reproduction quality has been improved, with the addition of two tweeters to the speakers already provided.
Going forward, Renault EASY CONNECT will be upgraded with innovative features to provide the best customer experience:
- The introduction of connected navigation supplied by TomTom and upgraded with Google Places database for simplified and more effective destination searches;
- "Over The Air" updates, allowing users to update their apps and services as easily as on their smartphones;
- The launch of the MY Renault smartphone app to remain permanently connected to your vehicle and Renault distributors, to remotely manage your journeys, to locate your vehicle and other services to make everyday life easier.
REMOTE R&GO APP FOR SMARTPHONES: A SMART AND EFFICIENT CHOICE
The free R&Go app turns an iOS or Android smartphone into a user-friendly multimedia system compatible with safe driving.
The customisable display and optimised usability whilst driving allow you to access the various environments of the app:
- Navigation: choice between the latest services such as Waze (now fully integrated into R&Go), Google Maps and Apple Plans;
- Music: FM radio, streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music;
- Telephone: making intuitive calls and voice reading of received text messages;
- Vehicle: on-board computer, rev counter and Renault eco2 driving settings.
THREE POWER UNITS, INCLUDING THE NEW SCe 75
New Renault Twingo comes with three three-cylinder petrol engines, SCe 75, TCe 95 and TCe 95 EDC. Complying with Euro 6D standards, these engines feature the latest technologies, including the Stop & Start system and hill start assist.
More powerful than its predecessor, the new SCe 75 engine stands out through driving pleasure it provides that is perfectly suited to city driving. With a maximum torque of 92 Nm, New Twingo is particularly comfortable to drive in urban surroundings. It makes driving more enjoyable, whilst also helping to reduce petrol consumption and cut CO2 emissions. This engine is available with a manual five-speed gearbox.
Available with the same transmission or with a six-speed EDC automatic gearbox, a unique option available in the small city car market, the TCe 95 engine provides a maximum torque of 135 Nm. Turbocharging allows more responsive acceleration at low revs, therefore increasing the sporty-car driving feel both in the city and on open roads. The powertrain comes with a new exhaust system and a variable displacement compressor, reducing fuel consumption.
