MG HS

MG Motor UK announced the launch of its new flagship model, All New MG HS, a quality C-segment SUV designed for quality family moments. All New MG HS offers buyers an exciting and high-quality alternative to the conventional choices with a sporty exterior and a family friendly interior with soft-touch materials used throughout. By combining high quality with keen pricing, All New MG HS creates a new definition of affordable luxury for new car buyers in the UK.

All New MG HS has been designed to look purposeful, sporty and perfectly at home on British and European roads. At the front, the latest iteration of MG's stellar field grille perfectly frames the largest MG logo yet. At the rear, twin tailpipes and an aluminium lower bumper add a classy and sporty finish.

Inside, soft-touch materials reign supreme as MG's designers have prioritised comfort and quality to make the cabin a very inviting place. The well-appointed driving position and roomy seats make All New MG HS a quality space for quality family moments. Front passengers can enjoy class leading shoulder-, hip- and head-room with soft-touch materials in all the right places. Piano key buttons, turbine design air vents and soft-touch door cards are pleasingly tactile, adding to the sense of comfort and quality inside the car. Rear seat passengers are catered for too with the reclining seats offering bags of space, twin air vents, two USBs and a sleek fold-out arm rest, which cleverly opens to reveal storage space and twin cup holders.

All New MG HS is powered by MG's latest 162PS turbo petrol engine in all three versions; entry level Explore; mid-level Excite and top level Exclusive. All versions are available with a six-speed manual transmission with a seven-speed DCT transmission available as an option on Excite and Exclusive versions. Exclusive DCT versions also include a steering wheel-mounted 'Super Sport' button, which engages the car's Sport mode and illuminates the interior's red ambient lighting.

With the MG Pilot suite of high-tech driver aids coming as standard, All New MG HS provides a quality driving experience with measured performance and driver assistance. MG Pilot makes driving a joy with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Intelligent Headlight Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Detection and Door Opening Warning.

All New MG HS offers affordable luxury across the range with all versions highly specified. The entry level Explore model starts from just £17,995 OTR. Standard features include 17" alloy wheels, keyless entry with push button start, a 10.1" colour touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and electric folding and heated door mirrors.

The mid-level Explore version is available from £20,495 OTR and adds rear parking camera, 18" alloys, rain sensing wipers and sat-nav. Top spec Exclusive is available from £22,995 with a choice of two leather interiors (black or red and black), front and rear LED sequential indicators, electrically adjustable heated sports front seats, dual zone climate control, ambient lighting and a stunning panoramic opening Skyroof. DCT versions also include driving modes including Super Sport and a customisable electronic opening tailgate.

Daniel Gregorious, Head of Sales & Marketing at MG Motor UK commented, "We're absolutely delighted to bring All New MG HS to the UK. This car brings a whole new level of quality and refinement to the segment, wrapped-up in a sporty and affordable package. All New MG HS will appeal to families looking for a high quality alternative to run-of-the-mill SUVs. This car delivers a combination of quality and value that only MG can achieve, and we're delighted to add it to our growing range."

On sale in the UK now with customer deliveries starting in November 2019, All New MG HS becomes the fourth car in MG's range alongside the MG3 hatchback, MG ZS compact SUV and the all-electric MG ZS EV. All New MG HS is backed by MG's famous 7-year warranty, which is now standard across the MG range, highlighting real confidence in the build quality and providing customers with complete peace of mind.

Quality Throughout - Design and Equipment

All New MG HS carries a bold, powerful and agile design language. With impressive detailing and accents that customers would normally expect to find in much more expensive cars, the extraordinary design is testament to MG's commitment to delivering high quality cars at down-to-earth prices.

Beginning at the front of the car, All New MG HS bears the latest iteration of MG's stellar field grille emblazoned with the unmistakable octagonal MG badge. Typical of the new wave of MG models, this design offers a familiar face and presents a look consistent with the ZS, ZS EV and MG3.

Flowing lines across the side and to the rear create a sense of movement and momentum, while neatly framing features such as the windows and wheel arches. Chrome highlights are dispersed across the car, from the front grille and roof rails to the door handles and sill. The large 18" aluminium alloy wheels, too, provide a point of contrast and a bold statement on the road. The sleek design masks its spacious, SUV build and the large front and rear doors provide easy access for all the family, young or old.

The bright LED headlights and rear lights both feature sequential indicators on Exclusive versions. As well as providing sleek and stylish accents at each corner of the car, the headlights offer enhanced visibility for clearer and safer turning.

Measuring 4,574mm in length, 1,876mm in width and 1,664mm in height, All New MG HS is a large and fully-fledged SUV, providing customers not only with an impressive amount of space and comfort, but also a raised driving position to sit head and shoulders above the rest. All New MG HS is presented in Arctic White as standard, with a series of rich and bold metallic colours, including Black Pearl, White Pearl, Farringdon Red and Brixton Blue, the last three being new to the MG range.

Inside All New MG HS, drivers and passengers are presented with a spacious interior, with a variety of soft-touch and pleasingly tactile materials, contrasting colours and metallic accents. Top spec Exclusive versions have a choice of a black leather or a red and black leather interior scheme. Ambient lighting also runs throughout the interior on Exclusive versions, creating a warm and inviting social space.

The spectacular panoramic opening Skyroof, which first debuted in ZS EV, makes its way into the new flagship MG model, flooding the cabin with light and creating the feeling of a brighter, more expansive atmosphere throughout the car. The Exclusive DCT version features paddle shifters behind the leather-clad steering wheel, providing smooth and effortless gear changes.

Technology and connectivity are at the heart of All New MG HS, with a large infotainment screen situated front-and-centre of the dashboard. Featuring a bold 10.1" colour touchscreen, the system is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for ultimate comfort, connectivity and seamless integration with your phone, apps and music. A six-speaker sound system (four-speaker system in Explore and Excite trims) provides drivers and passengers with a rich audio experience.

Owners that opt for the range-topping Exclusive trim will benefit from the exceptional comfort and luxury of leather seats, including heated and electrically operated one-piece sports seats in the front.

The overall interior and exterior design of All New MG HS reflects the efforts, passion and creativity of the brand's Advanced Design Studio in central London. The team has succeeded in developing a stylish and high quality SUV which is accessible to all.

MG Pilot - High-tech Driver Assistance

All New MG HS is the second MG model to benefit from the brand's high-tech driver assistance suite called MG Pilot, after it debuted on MG ZS EV in July 2019. MG Pilot comes as standard across all versions from Explore through to Excite and Exclusive, and helps to make the driving experience relaxing and safe.

Firstly, MG Pilot includes Autonomous Emergency Braking. At speeds below 12mph, the car will automatically deploy the vehicle's brakes to avoid a collision with a car, bicycle or pedestrian. At speeds above 12mph, the vehicle will brake automatically to reduce the likelihood or mitigate the severity of any impact.

Using an intelligent combination of forward-facing radar and camera technology, MG Pilot is an excellent companion on long distance, mile-munching journeys. Lane Keep Assist will automatically intervene if it detects the car leaving lane or leaving the carriageway, providing steering input to ensure the vehicle remains on the road. Blind spot detection provides a visual warning to the driver of any nearby vehicles in adjoining lanes.

All New MG HS DCT customers will benefit from a relaxed driving experience thanks to MG Pilot's Adaptive Cruise Control. By setting the target speed and following distance, the driver instructs MG Pilot to automatically adjust the car's speed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. If the road clears, MG Pilot will accelerate to and maintain the set speed. When the Adaptive Cruise Control is active, the Integrated Cruise Assist, at speeds above 38mph, will maintain the vehicle's position in the lane with minimum steering input from the driver. Intelligent Speed Limit Assist will read speed limit signs and will display the current speed limit to the driver.

On the DCT version, MG Pilot also includes Traffic Jam Assist, which enables the car to automatically follow the car in front at speeds below 35 mph, automatically steering, braking and accelerating within the same lane. If the vehicle in front comes to a complete stop, so will All New MG HS, and if it moves away within a short period of time, All New MG HS will do the same.

Alongside MG Pilot's active systems, a selection of warning and alert features complement the driver, maintaining safety and simplifying everyday driving. Fitted as standard with Forward Collision Warning, MG Pilot's frontal radars will trigger a warning message if the preceding vehicle decelerates rapidly, allowing enough time for a successful emergency brake application.

Drivers can be safe in the knowledge that they have excellent visibility with the advantage of Blind Spot Detection and Lane Change Assist systems. Monitoring the area behind the car's C-pillars, the Blind Spot Detection system will alert the driver, through an A-pillar mounted warning light, if the unseen area is occupied by another car. Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Door Opening Warning also help to mitigate the risk of collisions.

Refined Power - Engine and Transmission

All New MG HS comes as standard with a 162PS, four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, delivering a maximum torque figure of 250Nm driven through the front wheels.

As suited to the motorway cruise as it is around town, All New MG HS will hit 0-62 miles per hour in 9.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 118mph. Customers have the choice of either a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT gearbox, which can also be manually controlled using the steering-wheel-mounted paddles (Exclusive versions). Whether it's the school run, a day in the country or a long run to visit friends or family, All New MG HS feels competent and confident in all environments.

Efficiency is a key consideration for any new car and All New MG HS is no exception. A combined WLTP figure of 37.2mpg for the manual and 36.2mpg for the DCT returns more than 400 miles to a tank, ensuring fill ups are few and far between.

Boasting a maximum towing weight of 1,750kg, All New MG HS will stand up to even the most active lifestyles, pulling trailers, caravans, or boats with ease. With maximum torque available from 1,500-4,400rpm, All New MG HS has the low-down strength needed to tow items with ease, even on an incline.

Exclusive DCT versions also feature a series of drive modes including Eco, Normal, Sport and a driver customisable option. A steering wheel mounted 'Super Sport' button allows the driver to quickly engage Sport mode and it also illuminates the interior's red ambient lighting.

MG's Famous 7 Year Warranty - Warranty and Dealerships

MG offers the All New MG HS with its famous 7-year warranty. The generous package gives customers complete peace of mind, guaranteeing that fully trained MG technicians will always be on hand with genuine replacement MG parts. Drivers can be confident that the long manufacturer warranty reflects the high build quality and world-class components used in all MG cars.

Available on All New MG HS from launch, the 7-year / 80,000 miles warranty is fully transferrable to future owners, ensuring every MG HS will continue to benefit from our commitment to quality and service new or used.

MG dealerships can be found at strategic locations across country, ensuring that it is as quick and easy as possible for customers to visit their local showroom and experience All New MG HS, along with the rest of the MG product portfolio. With the dealer network getting bigger and better all the time, our dealers can also provide the very best service and aftersales support, as well as access to MG's extensive range of accessories.

Customers can be reassured that the technology supporting our service centres is as advanced as that in All New MG HS. MG's dealer portal system grants instant access to information such as parts pricing and dispatch lead times. A full digital service record of checks and maintenance provides the customer with complete transparency and full access to the service history of their vehicle.

MG has set itself the target of expanding its network to 120 dealerships by the end of 2020. The brand is already on track to achieve this goal, providing customers with new and exciting opportunities to experience the MG range.
