GAC Time Concept

First presented at the Guangzhou Auto show in November 2021, the TIME concept car, sets a new benchmark for luxury flagship sedans in the EV era. GAC TIME is shaped by a refined form language. Its body is elegant, dynamic, and artistic. Its beauty defies time and space.

The all-electric platform allows for better use of the space between the wheels, so the whole vehicle leans forward slightly. The TIME carries on with the aero-friendly technology of the concept car ENO.146, the world's most efficient Cd record holder. Its streamlined silhouette and waterdrop shape reduce the drag coefficient to 0.191.

Featuring a rounded front fascia and smooth surfaces, the body surface of TIME is as fluid and full as liquid metal. The corner where the side body surface meets the rear surface is crips with clean geometric lines, improving aerodynamics. This symbiosis between the curved and the straight, the soft and the tough, forms GAC Design's new EV design language - TEARDROP ON THE BLADE.

The "TIME RIPPLES" headlight features individually lit LED blocks that rotate and light up sequentially, evoking the motion of ripples in space-time. With the pulsating alternation of light and shadow, the taillights create a hyper-dimensional space tunnel where the exterior meets the interior.

The lit-up taillights are designed to create a sense of the space-time tunnel, transcending time and opening a new dimension. The hi-tech laser radars and sensors for autonomous driving are sophisticatedly integrated into the car body. The wheel hub, named ETERNAL TIMER, is a metaphor for temporal transcendence - with the help of holographic projection technology, the two-dimensional light animation gives a 3D illusion of space.

The interior of GAC TIME is designed to provide a tranquil experience that contrasts sharply with the exterior. The semi-open window shades merge the inside and the outside by blurring the spatial boundary, as paradoxical and harmonious as the Klein bottle is.

The inner space is divided into different zones for a tailored experience. It is also where rounds meet squares. The upper IP wraps around the driver seat like Möbius ring and extends to form the first- and last-row passenger seats. The OLED instrument cluster, the floating center display, and the steering wheel are arranged smartly along the IP ring to provide better ergonomics. The unique L-shaped lounge sofa in the rear redefines the relationship between occupants and space by providing a more home-like experience. By gently waving your hand on the sofa, you can close the window shade for privacy or open it to soak in the view of the outside world.

The comet-inspired roof lights run across the roof, providing warmth to the entire cabin. The crystal-clear ripple grain is complemented by the dreamy golden purple color, creating a luxurious ambiance. Equipped with L4 autonomous driving capabilities, GAC TIME offers a smooth, comfortable, and intelligent mobility experience.

GAC employs art and technology to expound on the four key elements of their interior design philosophy - intelligence, mobility, rounds, and squares.
