The Trepiuno is the concept car created by the Fiat Style Center as a modern reworking of the cars of the Fifties that marked the first explosion in automobile use in Italy. The Trepiuno prototype instantly conveys the idea of compactness, with its side section comprised of several overlapping layers and its little, shell-like roof. Its unusual proportions and certain visual features give it an instantly likeable look.
The front passenger seat can slide forward almost to the dashboard, which shrinks to leave space for the passenger's legs. This increases the amount of space available to whoever is sitting in the rear seat. In short, this Fiat prototype links the trunk to the dashboard through a series of transformations that are possible depending on the number of people to be accommodated. Many stylistic elements make up the design of the Trepiuno, giving it a compact yet dynamic and sporting look: the very short, wraparound hood, an "omega-style" ribbing that takes up the front of the car without the need for any additions, the side with several overlapping layers and the small, shell-like roof.
It is very bright both from the side, thanks to the lengthened passenger cabin, and from the roof, thanks to the reworking of the famous canvas roof found on certain super-compacts of the past. On the inside the dashboard has 2 drawer containers and a central console with touch-sensitive controls, producing a luminous signal that follows the user's movements and receives inputs. On the console, the user can also touch a liquid crystal display that brings up another touch-sensitive multi-function menu placed between the front seats.
