The front-mounted electric motor develops 180 kW, with the rear-mounted electric motor contributing 200 kW for a combined system output of 380 kW (517 hp)

A combined 700 Nm of torque provides instant and seamless acceleration, resulting in an exceptional 0-100km/h time of just 4.9 seconds.

The advanced powertrain technology provides whisper-quiet operation, making for calm and serene on-road qualities. The high torque and inherent structural integral of the all new BYD TANG results in a maximum towing capacity of 1500 kg.

Allied to the all new BYD TANG's impressive performance is a premium braking package consisting of Brembo brake callipers at the front and perforated brake discs front and rear, together with Bosch Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) system. The BYD Blade Battery - Industry-leading Safety, Greater Energy Capacity And High Charging Power

Developed and produced by BYD's battery division, the Blade Battery features a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) cathode and 24 individual liquid-cooled cell modules, each with a longitudinal blade-like profile. This patented design enhances durability, longevity, charging performance, and thermal stability under varying climatic and operational conditions.

The award-winning Blade Battery is housed within a crash-resistant aluminium honeycomb structure with multi-layer defence and load-bearing properties, forming an integral part of BYD's body structure for robust protection and high levels of safety.

The inclusion of a heat pump as standard increases the thermal efficiency of the battery by up to 20 per cent. It also provides significant energy savings of up to 40 per cent during the heating of the interior. This leads to a 10 per cent increase in overall range over a conventional positive temperature coefficient (PTC) heating element.

The exceptional safety characteristics of the Blade Battery have been demonstrated in numerous rigorous crash tests, including multiple active safety scenarios carried out by the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), which recently awarded the BYD TANG its highest honour: a coveted 5-star safety rating. With a total gross energy capacity of 108.8 kWh, the all new BYD TANG's new liquid-cooled Blade Battery operates in combination with an advanced electronic control system. It uses aerospace-grade aluminium silicon carbide to optimise the efficiency of the dual electric motor powertrain under all driving scenarios.

A combined driving range of up to 530 km (WLTP combined) provides the all new BYD TANG with true long distance qualities, further extending its appeal.

The all new BYD TANG comes as standard with an 11 kW 3-phase AC on-board charger. With a maximum charging capacity of 170 kW on a high-power DC charger, rapid charging is also possible.

A particularly convenient feature in areas lacking a power socket is the BYD TANG's ability to transition into a "mobile power station" via a standard V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) function. It allows it to provide portable power to external electric devices, including power tools and camping equipment, at a rate of up to 4 kW.

The innovative Blade Battery is integrated into the all new BYD TANG's hot-formed high-strength steel floor structure, providing it with an exceptionally low centre of gravity for superior handling and body control. The intelligent all-wheel-drive system continuously adjusts the distribution of power between the front and rear wheels, ensuring consistently high levels of grip and traction under varying road and weather conditions.

The driving experience is further elevated by the inclusion of 21 inch Michelin Pilot Sport 4 perforamnce tyres as standard equipment.

Refinements in the body structure of the all new BYD TANG provide an ultra-rigid basis for precise steering and superior shock absorption. Intelligent Drive Assistance - Uncompromised Driving Safety

The all new BYD TANG is engineered with industry-leading passive and active safety underpinned by BYD's advanced Intelligent Driving Assistant System.

The in-house developed Level 2 autonomous driving system uses 18 different sensors, including 8 ultrasonic radars, 5 millimetre wave radars, 4 surround view cameras, and a high-perception camera mounted within the windscreen. They operate in combination with big data algorithms developed by BYD's Smart Connectivity Centre to optimise the functions of each of the individual advanced driver assistant systems (ADAS) depending on the detected habits of the driver for customised safety and ultimate peace of mind.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Predictive Collision Warning (PCW), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Integrated Cruise Assist (ICA), Automatic Emergency Braking (EAB), Stop and Go Full Speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Emergency Braking Assistance (EBA), Door Opening Warning (DOW), Rear Crossing Warning (RCW), and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) functions are included on all models.

To facilitate manoeuvring during parking and city driving, the all new BYD TANG is equipped with an innovative panoramic view camera system as standard. It combines images from the Intelligent Driving Assistant System's four surround view cameras to provide real-time 360-degree bird's-eye images on the centre-mounted 15.6-inch infotainment display. The high-pixel resolution images are accompanied by acoustic warnings, allowing the driver to manoeuvre into and out of tight spaces with confidence and ease.
